Structure
A training session will be held every eight weeks over the course of
18 months.
Each session will start in the evening with dinner and a speaker,
followed by a day of training.
Content
Each after dinner speaker will represent a part of the pig production
chain. It also anticipated that people from outside of the industry
will be invited to help participants look further afield for ideas to
improve their businesses.
The formal management training will be delivered by Cedar
Associates. Topics covered include*:
- Solving problems and making decisions
- Understanding change in the workplace
- Planning change in the workplace
- Achieving objectives through time management
- Obtaining information for effective management
- Introduction to leadership
- Motivating to perform in the workplace
- Developing yourself and others
- Planning to work efficiently
- Organising and delegating
- Managing projects
- Managing performance
* this list is subject to change, participants will be given the complete list
In addition to the training sessions, written work based projects are
required. These help take the learning from the classroom back to
the business to help implement improvements.
Assessment
There is continous assessment through out the programme via
written projects. There are no exams.
Company Support
I
t is essential that participants have the full support of their
employer. Whilst support will be available from BPEX and Cedar
Associates it is important you have somebody in your organisation
who will help mentor you. Training for mentors will be provided
before the first training session.
Course Costs
BPEX is covering the costs of the first programme. This includes:
One days mentor training for line managers, registration costs,
course delivery and materials, assessments, evening meal and
overnight accommodation for each session.
Support is not provided for transport costs or time away from work.
